I love golfers! They rarely need to yell FORE! They are so much fun to watch; so intense and often so extremely committed to this sport. There are a plethora of wonderful golf choices here in Nevada County! Lake Wildwood and Lake of the Pines are private golf communities. You can actually own a home (at a very reasonable price!) and play golf minutes away,on private golf courses. They are both lovely gated communities with lakes, streams, golf, views, parades, club houses, parks, tennis courts, play fields, RV parking, deer, turkey flocks and YOU DO GET THE IDEA? They are pretty exciting neighborhoods in which to live. They are NOT just retirement places. These are communities with wide demographics. Each are located just about ten miles from town, but have local facilities nearby for shopping, schools, sports areas and churches. No need to shout out FORE when you can play great golf.
If living in a gated community doesn’t appeal to you, then we have a gorgeous neighborhood subdivision called Alta Sierra. Just nine miles south of downtown Grass Valley, Alta Sierra features one of the most beautiful golf courses in the country. It is open to the Public, and even if you don’t have a great game this course is known for the many native birds that can be seen as you walk or cart the 18 holes. There are homes on the course, but there are also homes on small lots, up to large ranch style properties, all within an easy drive of amazingly lovely golf. By the way, the food at the Alta Sierra Golf Club is pretty nice as well. Those who live in Alta Sierra find it to be the perfect combination of rural and golf lifestyle.
I admit that I have played golf in the past. I love the shoes, the beautiful courses, and the challenge. My other confession is that I learned long ago that you have to choose your passions carefully. My REAL ESTATE BUSINESS has always been my first choice . People dedicated to golf have discovered that their passions feeds them in a very special way. My family and my real estate “passions” feed me in that same deep place. But that doesn’t mean I don’t vicariously think I could be a golfer too! So I get my golf course “fix” in by being a hostess for our Fr. Phelan Annual golf tournament. This last week I was happy to be hosting the #2 hole at Lake Wildwood Golf Course for this special community event. The Annual Fr. Phelan Golf Tournament is a fundraiser that directly supports our local Catholic School, Mt. St. Mary’s Academy. This wonderful day on the links provides a nice infusion of capital so we can continue to offer this amazing educational opportunity. Thank you to Bob, Bill and Lynn McDaniel for helping me set up , and for sharing this very special day with me.
