At this special time of year it is common to get together to warm our hearts and hearths with family and friends. Those of us who work in industries where there are no 9 to 5 days but more likely 12 hour days with short or non existent weekends, taking a break is ESSENTIAL!
Before the end of the year, I will be taking some much needed BREAK TIME. After years and years of cooking the holiday meals (all of them most years), I have retired from the kitchen for this 2016 season. I might break down and make a batch of cookies, but instead of cooking I am going to be doing some VISITING! Friends, family, grandchildren, all are needing some FACE time with their favorite MOM, Grand unit(they call me Mona) and “Fairy God Mother”. And I need some of that cuddle time that I crave while the little ones are still little enough not to squirm away and show me how to work their latest GADGETS.
Yes, I don’t do things in the conventional ways. I do work A LOT and am finally listening to my darlings one and all, and will be enjoying every single minute of my “non working down time” this next six weeks. I won’t be gone…you will see me around, and I am likely to be working SOME. But the priority for me is to actually FEEL like I am resting, enjoying the holy days, and having a different kind of FUN ! And now I will be able to tell you all that I did some GREAT resting over the holidays. And be ready to rock and roll in the New Year!
For my clients, I would like to have you enjoy your break from the routines too. Sign up for the Turkey Trot, the 5 K food drive, or whatever you do to contribute to the well being of others during the Holy season. Join the fun with crafts, make a wreath for a family or Veteran! Join us at the Food Bank or the soup kitchens to bring warmth and smiles to others who have so little. Any little thing you can do to share your great big hearts with others this holiday season is a personal gift to me.
We are blessed. I have lovely children, grandchildren, friends and working environment. I have you all as my CLIENTS FOR LIFE! The weather is fabulous, the rain is coming again, and life is just filled to the brim with delight.
God bless and keep you all! More soon, Deb
